FROM THE SENIOR WARDEN
I would like to start by saying thank you to all the people who
give of themselves in a physical way.
All that we do around here, would not get done without you.
As you might have smelled in the air, we have done some painting.
We even named a wall after our choir director.
It is the wall of Ken.
Also, thank you all for being a part of this church family called
All Saints.’ Without you
there it would be a very empty church.
The Bible tells us that maintaining a close walk with God is a
command we must obey, not merely a suggestion we may want to consider.
This is Love: that we walk in obedience to God's commands.
As you have heard from the beginning,
His command is that you walk in LOVE.
2 JOHN 6
I pray that you are all having a great summer.
Pete Van de Koolwyk.
VESTRY HIGHLIGHTS—JUNE MEETING
All Saints’ is running like a well tuned motor cycle.
All of our leadership is doing a great job keeping us on the
right track. Please hold
them up in prayer.
·
The plans for our covered walkways are
coming along and we should be ready for you to see some work on it some
time by November.
·
As far as our funds, we are running very
tight.
The Vestry is here to look over the church, so, feel free to ask
questions or give us your thoughts.
Pete Van de Koolwyk.
CROP WALK—STOP HUNGER
Hello Friends,
Pilgrim Congregational Church will be hosting a meeting Sunday, August 3, 2008 for all area
churches interested in participating in the annual CROP Walk.
Marijke Fakasiieiki, the Assistant Regional Director for Church
World Service, Northern CA/Nevada, will be leading the informational
meeting. She will share the importance of the Crop Hunger Walks and
assist us with organizing the event in our area.
I invite all on this list to attend or send a representative from
your church. We will hold the informal meeting in our Fireside room
after church at noon. Come, get a cup of coffee or ice water and
refreshments from our fellowship table and join us in planning for this
very worthwhile event.
The CROP walk will be held on October 18, 2008.
Hope to see you on August 3rd!
Sincerely, Tara Swanson
Co Chair, Outreach
THANK YOU
My dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
I want to thank everyone who served or assisted with the funeral
Tuesday, June 27th, of our beloved brother Hubert Miron.
To Joel Thomson, Ken Westrick and Jonathan Miron thank you for
the beautiful music; Marian Petersen for reading the Scripture; the
Altar Guild Team; Sid Trevvett for serving as crucifer; Lou Gerard, our
usher, who always keeps things running smoothly; to the Daughters of the
King and our Parish family for providing us with a wonderful reception
following the service; to all who helped set-up and clean-up.
Last but not least, to Fr. Charlie Poole for officiating.
With heartfelt gratitude to all of you for a job very well done,
for without all of you, I could not do this.
God Bless you all.
Yours in Christ,
Maria R. Forman

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS NEEDED!
Several of our Eucharistic Ministers (EMs)
have moved away, and we need more!
Eucharistic Ministers are confirmed communicants who are
licensed to assist the priest at the altar during Holy Communion, and
who help the service run smoothly. An EM may be asked to serve the
Chalice (Chalice Bearer) or 2nd Paten.
At the 5 o’clock service on Saturday evening
and the 8 o’clock
service on Sunday morning, one EM is scheduled to serve, who chooses a
second EM to help. At the
10 o’clock service, four EMs
are scheduled to serve each Sunday.
If you are interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister (or
finding out more about it), please see or call Fr. Frost or Marian
Petersen, EM Team Leader, 241-7907. You
will be trained for this ministry and given time to practice before you
are scheduled to serve. Please consider this vital service in the
life of the church!

We want to thank all of the church family members that
participated in the International Potluck.
We had 30 people attend!
Kudos to all the cooks; the food was delicious and we appreciated
their willingness to try a new recipe.
The unique and unusual items from the Thrift Shop generated over
$80 for their coffers. Once
again thank you for your participation and support.
Sincerely, Jim & Bonnie Sharp.
CONCERT @ REDDING CHRISTIAN
FELLOWSHIP
Kiev Symphony & Chorus
Music Mission Kiev was founded in 1993 by Roger McMurrin as a way
to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Ukrainian people.
Since that time, it has become one of the world’s premier
symphonies, but more importantly, has reached thousands of people for
the Lord.
Music Mission Kiev will be performing one concert on September
18th @ 7 PM at Redding Christian Fellowship
(2157 Victor Avenue).
This is a free concert!
They are asking local churches to help them house the 160 members
of the symphony and chorus for two nights, September 17th & 18th.
If you would like to share in this cross-culture experience,
please call Jerry Mapes (Minister of Music, Worship and Missions) at
Redding Christian Fellowship at 222-3425.
